Education Programs | Lectures for Teachers
Palestra com o Professor Photo: Wilian Aguiar
The Lectures for Teachers program consists of preparatory lectures conducted by Inês Bogéa, in which she describes the relationships with dance with other fields of knowledge, while at the same time pointing out how this art may be used as an educational and awareness-building element. Each lecture, which includes the screening of a documentary film, presents an opportunity for direct dialogue between teachers and the dance company, with time for questions and answers, suggestions and the exchange of different experiences.

In its three years of existence, São Paulo Companhia de Dança has produced five DVDs, with informative printed inserts, destined for distribution to lecture attendees. Here is a brief description of these DVDs:

A Dança no Tempo [Dance within Time] presents an overview of the history of dance;
Nos Passos da Dança [In the Steps of Dance] presents an introduction to the universe of the choreographies that integrate Program 2 of the 2008 season: the history of the Ballets Russes, the track record of choreographer Paulo Caldas, and the context in which Balanchine created his Serenade;

Caixa Preta [Black Box] presents an overview of the history of the backstage of the Italian stage and its connections with elements of culture and world history;

Vida de Bailarino [A Dancer’s Life] features an introduction to the realm and the emotions that move São Paulo Companhia de Dança dancers;

Uma Roupa que Dança [A Dancing Costume] addresses the relationship between costumes and the stage setting, as well as their significance and evolution in the course of time.
